A Session with Tom Thornton Photography
It's officially been over a month since I last posted. Despite the ongoing list of blog topics I have written down, I just couldn't find the inspiration to write. Combined with my internship wrapping up and my niece being born, blogging was pushed to the back burner. But, I have a lot of exciting things underway, and I can't wait to share them with you! (I also can't stop thinking about how I just used 'a lot' and 'things' in the same sentence, despite being told repeatedly by my high school writing teacher to never, ever do that.)
A few weeks ago, I reconnected with a high school friend over some coffee, and we discovered our interests and career aspirations align closely now that we're #adulting. We're both studying advertising and marketing, with a passion project on the side. Mine, of course, is this blog. His is photography. Below are a few of my favorite shots taken by the extremely talented Tom Thornton of Tom Thornton Photography.
I was blown away by how natural Tom looked behind the camera. Snapping photos comes so effortlessly to him, and he has an eye for great backdrops I would have walked past a million times without blinking an eye.
So talented, right?
I so appreciate Tom taking the time to drive to Minneapolis and photograph me. He listened to what I liked, needed, and wanted. He made me feel comfortable, and put a genuine smile on my face. Most importantly, looking at the photos he took of me, I actually feel beautiful! It's not often that I look at a photo of myself and think that.
